Sharing is caring! I have a 2014 Passat Sport TSI and I am pretty confused as i cannot find the exact signal that is on my dash on this site. The light is the same as the one of the main picture above which is the “Brake Light Bulb Failure” signal, however mine has an exclamation point inside of it, so it looks like the “Automatic Transmission Malfunction” signal, I just want to make sure I am troubleshooting the correct failure. This can just be me being paranoid as I am almost out of my warranty, but i figured i just want to make sure. Hi, I drive a 2013 VW Passat CC with DSG gearbox since I bought it brand new from the dealership and have done 40,000 KM so far. 2 weeks ago had a major issue while having a long distance trip (around 350 km).
2016 Vw Passat Maintenance Schedule
As long as the car is running, gear changes and responsiveness is perfect but whenever I tend to stop along the trip, the gearbox starts kicking and the car sometimes stalls and the gear indicator (to the right of the digital clock display) starts to blink on and off with the service signal. Shift to Sport, the car kicks but moves and then everything goes back to normal. This happened while driving both directions every time i stop during this trip, but the strange thing is that when I reach my destination and use the car daily for short distances (not exceeding 30 km) the car works fine and there is no sign of similar issue. I still have 2 warantee years from the local dealership, but the incident only happened on very long distances and I doubt the dealer will be able to identify it during a normal checkup. Anyone faced the same problem and can help? Thank you in advance!
I have a 2013 MK6 Jetta 1.4 TSI. I use the car daily for short distances (say within 10-15km) after i reach my destination & stop the engine but whenever i start the car for the next destination the gear indicator P blink on and off with NO other service signal but press break pedal or shift to D/N then back to P it will resume normal WHat is the problems? I did take the car to the vw dealer & they checked the car and says they don’t see anything error code So, what else can I do to solve this problem? 2012 VW Passat SE.
Wrench icon comes on in instrument panel – to the right of the digital clock where the gear usually shows up (D, P, or R). The wrench is white like the rest of the instrument panel messages and it is steady (not blinking). It comes on after the car is on about 20 minutes, then stays on for about 20 minutes, and then goes off. It happened everytime for 3 days and then stopped.
Dealer said it was the oil service reminder but the manual says that when that’s the case, the wrench will appear when the ignition is turned on and then will go off in a few seconds. That is not the case here. No leaks, no other lights, etc.
I have a 2007 GTI 2.0T FSI, the instrument cluster seems to have a short or bad connection to the ECU. In the morning when I first start it, the car is kicking a fault and disengaging the auto transmission, steering and traction system. I will have to pull over several times and restart the car and tap on the dash and it goes away for most of the day. Sometimes when I hit a bump or pothole it will also trigger the fault.
It seems to be the left side of the instrument cluster has an issue. Can I buy a used instrument cluster or will it not work on the security system? My 2013 Beetle’s dashboard lights came on for the ABS, ESP/ASR, Airbag Problem, and check brakes message have appeared. I had a friend who’s a mechanic look into it and when he connected the scanner it produced 2 errors: B10B3 – Occupant detection system limited function. 01130 – ABS operation not a plausible signal. When they were diagnosing the problem the battery that is only a 1 yr old died and they had to jump it. He explained that the new beetle might require a battery specifically for European cars example optima battery.
The battery can be failing and not generating the correct voltage that is required for this car. He said everything looked good with the tires and brakes when connected to the diagnostic tablet.
Daveojunk answered 6 years ago The dusk to dawn feature can be turned off via the headlight switch (unless this has changed for the 2012 models), but the headlights will remain on. As stated previoulsy this is the DRL. What turns off are the taillights and the front parking lights.
To get a little more involved you can purchase a 3rd party tool which can shut off the DRL's via the ODBII port. It's called Vag-com - a cable and software. There used to be a site in which you can find a local owner of a vag-com.
