Parts Manual For International Sickle Mower
Greg, I went through my manuals to find it is a model 100 balanced head mower. The 120's were the caster wheel models.
The wobble box contains no oil. Instead, you pop the plug out & center the bearing housing. There is a grease fitting hiding in the crud on top of it. The manual sez 'Use 3/8-ounce of #2 multi-purpose lithium grease.'
I pump grease in slowly until I feel a litle back pressure & stop. I do that so I don't damage the bearing seals. Same with the one between the wobble drive pulley & the rear hinge. Case still reproduces the manual for the 100 mower & parts lists for the whole series of that style balanced head mower can be found in their online parts catalog.

The Jensales Team is excited to bring you this 132 page Parts Manual for the International Harvester 230 Sickle Bar Mower. A historically accurate parts manual is essential when ordering parts and doing repairs.
You may want to track down some used grass rods for your inner & outer shoe. The ones by the wobble box keep grass out of the pin & the ones by the outer shoe flip the grass inward a bit so it won't bunch in your knife on your next go-round. Great mowers! I'm not so sure if they are still being produced in any form, today, but they should be. Hope this helped.
International 1300 Sickle Mower Manual
Thank you Mike, I’ll start looking for a manual and try to get the thing aligned. All bearings and moving parts seem to move smoothly, but there appears to be too much play in the knife blade.
Yesterday, I took a cold chisel and knocked the top off of two rivets and the banging pushed the knife up over the edge of the bar toward the top hold-down bracket. To me it seems that moving that much would be the cause of grass binding up around most of the cutter blades. Or, is some play normal? I’ve seen some rock guards (on this site) that have a third screw in the center back to help adjust the bracket up or down. Mine only has the two bolts along the front to hold it. People have mentioned shims, but if anything, I need to move my brackets downward – closer to the knife blade.
I’m glad you addressed the gear box. I opened the rubber plug at the top and noticed it was a dirty looking slim, but no oil. After reading your note I realize its just grease. If I were expecting grease it would not have concerned me; but I was looking for oil. Not sure of what you mean by ‘grass rods’ or the ‘inner & outer shoe’, but I will investigate and see what I can learn about it. Do you use a pipe to bend the rock guards as mentioned in several of these blogs? I always believed cast wouldn’t bend, but I suppose that would depend on the steel in the guards.
Appreciate your time and information, Greg. The model 100 balanced head mower was a trailer model NOT a 3 pt mower. My archives on balanced head mowers indicate you would have either a 130 model or the later version of the same mower which I believe was numbered 1300. IH made a number of balanced head mowers in different mounting arrangements including the above two referenced plus a mid-mount and semi-mount. You should get a manual if you are planning to use it as there are a couple of touchy grease issues.one at the base of the cutter bar (needs frequent) and the other the balanced head which needs to be greased sparingly and with care. You can find a lot of information about your mower using the attached link, clicking on the red link in the page center, and then typing your model number in the search box.
